The annual Burton Bradstock Primary School inter-class photo competition, sponsored by Burton Bradstock ONLINE, took place during the Summer Term 2014.  All Classes entered photographs linked to the topic ‘ Play’.  This year the Winner’s Shield went to Class 3 and they accepted, on behalf of the School, a Nikon Coolpix Waterproof Digital Camera.  Another camera was accepted on behalf of the School by pupil Jessica who submitted the best individual entry.

The entries were judged by Patrick Coughlin, a professional photographer from London, who said “All the entries were of an excellent standard but there had to be a winner and that was Class 3.” He said he “was particularly impressed with Jessica’s (Class 4) entry and she was a worthy winner of the individual prize”.  The pupils were a particularly attentive audience when Mr. Coughlin demonstrated how, by just using two pieces of L shaped card, you could decide which would be the best view to use when wanting to photograph something.

Headteacher, Mrs. Claire Staple, thanked David Edwards, a member of the ONLINE Committee, for once again organising a School Photographic Competition and thanked the Committee for its generosity in giving the School two more digital cameras for use by all the pupils.

All the photographs entered for judging will be posted on the Burton Bradstock ONLINE web site (www.burtonbradstock.org.uk).
