Our Community Library

Our community library is open 2 hours a day, 6 days a week.  Run, managed and maintained by Friends of Burton Bradstock Library (FBBL) volunteers, it benefits from being part of the Libraries West Consortium.  Books, computers and library systems are supplied and supported by Dorset County Libraries.  Free wifi, jigsaws, DVDs, maps, cards, and copying services are supplied by the “Friends”.

Membership of the library is free

Your Library Membership Card

With your library membership card you can:-

  • Use any of the libraries in the Libraries West Consortium to borrow up to 20 physical items at a time, return or renew items and use the public computers.
  • Access a range of free online services to manage your account on-line; to order items from Libraries West Catalogue for local collection at our Community Library in Burton Bradstock, renew loans, download e books and e audio books to your own device, or read newspapers and magazines on-line.  All free of charge in Burton Bradstock.

The Friends of Burton Bradstock Library have introduced:

  • Free WiFi using your own device (supported by BB-online).
  • A Jigsaw Lending Catalogue (100+ jigsaws for members & visitors to the village).
  • Information, Magazines and Local Newspapers to read and enjoy in the library.
  • DVDs (available by generous donations) with a donation to FBBL.
  • Copying and Laminating services; Maps, and Cards.  All funds support FBBL.

Who Can Join

If you live, work or study in Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, Dorset, North Somerset, Poole, Somerset or South Gloucestershire you may be full members of the library.  You can join at any age, but if you are under sixteen you will need an adult to sign for you.  Anyone else may join as a temporary member.

How to Join

You can fill out a form in the Library or you can join online. Please bring identification showing your current name and address.

Non Members of the Library

Everyone is welcome to use the Public Computers in the library to access the internet, use Microsoft office applications or print and scan documents and pictures. 

If you are not a member of the library please bring some identification with you.
