Music Festival 12th-20th

Inaugurated in 1981, this is the 36th year for the Burton Bradstock Festival of Music and Art. The Festival takes place in mid-August, presenting an astonishing range of high quality events in just eight days, including orchestral concerts, evening and lunchtime recitals, intimate late evening performances and an Art Exhibition and Sale. Most of the concerts take place in Burton Bradstock’s exquisite 16th century church and the Art Exhibition and Sale is in the Village Hall.

Festival Evensong - Sunday 13 August 2017 - 6.30 pm

The music the choir has chosen to sing includes “How lovely are thy dwellings” by Brahms and a new piece written by Nicholas Brown, the Director of the choir, “Walk with me, O my Lord”. The organist for the service is David Davies (until recently at Exeter Cathedral) and he has kindly agreed to play a short, fifteen minute, recital to conclude the service, including the well known “Toccata from Symphony No.5” by Widor. A rousing end to what will be, I’m sure, a wonderful service.
