The Trafalgar Ride through Burton Bradstock
21st August, 2005
The original route taken by Lieutenant Lapenotiere went from Bridport to
Dorchester, but a small detour from Bridport was added in this re-enactment
to take in the villages of Burton Bradstock & Portesham. The former to
recognise Midshipman Roberts of Burton Bradstock who was clerk to Nelson,
and the latter to pass Admiral Hardy's house in Portesham and the famous monument
to him on the hill above that village.
